How I Met My Man…
A True Story As Told To Us By Our Good Friend Bridget…
I was heartbroken over another relationship that just went south… We had gone on a trip to Seattle where we both fell in love with the scenery. I was so taken by the people, the places to go and things to do that I got out my vision board… I inserted a picture of the Space Needle, a crazy big diamond ring and a maid (I figured if I was going to dream I may as well dream a maid into the picture!)
I got crazy one day, uncurled myself from the fetal position and out of desperation went shopping. Man shopping. I’d heard of sites where you could browse and before you know it – there I was.
I signed up, (I just paid for a one month ‘test drive’), posted a photo and waited. And waited. It wasn’t until I got up the nerve to reach out that I started getting responses. Apparently the guys are just as insecure as we are and don’t want to be rejected – even on line – so my sending winks and emails started the ball(s!) rolling.
Less than 2 weeks later I saw him. I nervously sent a quick email to show my interest, and you could have torn me off the ceiling when I received an almost immediate response. Thank goodness for cell phone and Internet compatibility!
He came to see me as he was passing through on a business trip and made the commute to Colorado several times before I would agree to a relationship… 1 year later I moved – to a home not only with a maid, but in Seattle. And 6 months later I had that ‘choke a horse’ ring as my friends call it.
“I’m telling you, if you believe it will happen, it will happen. But no one is going to come knocking at your door while you’re sitting there in your flannel jammies. You have to reach out for what you want!”
Bridget tells us she used a rather exclusive sounding dating site “MillionaireSinglesSite.com” because she wanted someone to match her own intelligence and success. “You don’t have to be a millionaire to sign up, but I figured the shear name of the site would scare most looser types off. And I was right! ”
