Exercise Doesn’t Have To Be A 4 Letter Word

Exercise may as well be a 4 letter word.  But its also a necessary evil. Here in the northwest we have SO many cool “trails”to hike.  Trails that admittedly leave us out of breath and having to stop a few times on the way – but beautiful nonetheless. And with a bottle of Chardonnay in the back pack we have a reward at the top to look forward to!

Each Saturday at 9AM we meet at a small parking lot in Issaquah with a predetermined destination.  Most will get us back to our meeting place by noon so we have the rest of the day to ourselves.  Depending of course how much time we spend relaxing at the peak of our destination.

The key is not to push the others, but encourage them.  Everyone has their own pace but we do it “together”.  We’ve used the guide 55 Hikes Around Snoqualmie Pass as our ‘bible’ of hiking. One lesson learned early on… be sure everyone has their own back pack with anything they might need. From car keys and cell phone to water and an extra jacket – even on a day hike you can get seperated and need a few essentials.
